BEACH HIGHLIGHTS
Tyson Street Beach is located south of Oceanside Pier and Pier View South. Within feet of the beach is Tyson Street Park, a grassy area, with palm trees, picnic tables, restrooms and a playground. The Strand and a concrete walkway separate the park from the beach.
Like Pier View South, Tyson Street Beach is sandy, but more narrow than the beaches north of the pier. This beach has a beautiful view of the pier.
BEACH EVENTS
(July 4) is a family-friendly and festive July 4th celebration for all. Food, shopping, kids beachscene, live entertainment at Oceanside Pier Amphitheatre. Traditional fireworks at Oceanside Pier cancelled for 2009.

Beach Regulations
No alcohol allowed. All dogs are prohibited on the beach throughout the year. You may walk your dog on a leash on The Strand. Because of summer crowds, surfing is prohibited during this time. The area will be marked with a black ball flag, checkered flags and swim-surf signs.
Parking
Metered parking available on Pacific Street. The nearest parking lot is located one block east of Pacific Street and one block north of Tyson Street on the corner of Mission Avenue and Myers Street. Also, as mentioned, two handicapped parking spaces are available.
