Beach Highlights

Pier View North, as its name implies is just north of Oceanside Pier. This wide, sandy beach is less crowded than Pier View South. The beach generally has a relaxed atmosphere. Sheltered picnic areas on the sand are available, along with volleyball courts. You must provide a net and ball. Behind the beach is the Oceanside Community Recreation Center. The beach is in a residential area.

McDonalds and Ruby's Diner are located on Oceanside Pier. You can walk underneath Oceanside Pier to Pier View South to take advantage of the playground. Oceanside Pier Plaza Amphitheater is also located at Pier View South.

Regulations

No alcohol allowed. All dogs are prohibited on the beach throughout the year. You may walk your dog on a leash on The Strand.

Parking

A small, pay parking lot is located north of the pier. The lot fills up fast, especially in summer. Other pay parking lots are located on the corner of Mission Ave and Myers Street, and on Surfrider Way, ½ block east of Pacific Street.

Lifeguards

Lifeguard towers 2 and 4 are located on Pier View North. Headquarters is located at the base of the pier. Surfing and swimming zones are marked with flags and signs.
