Oceanside Beaches

Beach Highlights

Oceanside has about 3 1/2 miles of sandy beaches. A familiar landmark that can be seen from all the beaches is Oceanside Pier.

Oceanside Harbor's Beach
At the north end of the beaches is Oceanside Harbor. The harbor jetty to the pier is about 2 miles.

Harbor Beach, the northern-most beach, is by far, the city's largest and best all around beach. This beach is cut off from the other Oceanside beaches farther south, by the San Luis Rey River.

Beaches South of Harbor
The beaches south of the river are all connected along an uninterrupted stretch of sand from Breakwater Way to Buccaneer Beach and a mile beyond to the border with Carlsbad. You can walk or jog from one end to the other. These beaches are also connected by The Strand, a narrow paved road, next to the sand. Along The Strand is a wide cement sidewalk.
