Moonlight State Beach
Moonlight State Beach is a popular spot for families and kids. Moonlight State Beach is flat and sandy, a great place for sunbathing, walking or jogging. The area just in front of the main beach is designated for swimmers only, with surfing designated to the north and south. The kelp beds a quarter mile off the beach makes this a good diving spot.
Moonlight State Beach comes packed with amenities, including volleyball courts, a playground park, snack bar, picnic area, fire pits and a permanent life guard station.
Moonlight State Beach hosts the annual Wavecrest Woodie Meet, which gathers in the parking lot on the bluff.
Moonlight State Beach is located at the end of B Street. If you go east of B Street a few blocks, you'll come to South Coast Hwy 101 and the Encinitas Downtown Business District. There, you will find all kinds of restaurants and shops. Past the hwy, B Street becomes Encinitas Blvd.
