Marine Street Beach
Marine Street & Neptune Place, La Jolla, California (map)
Beach Highlights
Marine Street Beach is a popular hangout for body surfing, diving, strolling and sunbathing in La Jolla, CA. The kelp beds offer good diving, especially when the waters are clear. This beach is very scenic, an ideal spot for strolling.
Located just west of Hospitality Point, Marine Street Beach has the feeling of being secluded. You have to drive through a La Jolla neighborhood from the main drag to get there. There's parking on the neighborhood streets, and you make your way down a small flight of steps.
This La Jolla beach is best at low tide. The beach is nestled against rocks which protect the expensive homes. At high tide, the waves come close to the rocks.
While Marine Street Beach is a secluded beach, Hospitality Point is a rocky area which offers tide pools at low tide. From Hospitality Point, traveling east, you connect with the pathway that takes you to Cuvier Park, Children's Pool, and Ellen Browning Scripps Park, and La Jolla Cove.
