Activities

Fletcher Cove Beach Park is a small, sandy beach set within a secluded cove in Solana Beach, CA. The beach is a popular spot for surfing, surf fishing, and sunbathing. The beach gets wider at low tide but pretty much disappears at high tide.

At low tide, you can walk or jog along Fletcher Cove Beach Park in either direction. Del Mar City Beach is about a mile to the south and Cardiff's Seaside Beach is about the same distance to the north.

Beach Access

You can get to Fletcher Cove Beach Park by walking down a concrete ramp that connects the beach with Fletcher Cove Park above. You can get to small observation deck from the ramp, near the beach.

Park

Fletcher Cove Park, also commonly known as Pillbox because of its history as a WWII Gunnery installation, is the main park within Solana Beach. The park and beach are a block from Coast Hwy 101 and downtown Solana Beach.

Events

Fiesta Del Sol

(1st weekend in June) is Solana Beache's annual art festival with live music, food, a beer gardent and childrens playground. Event takes place at Fletcher Cove Park, next to beach.

Solana Beach Triathlon & Duathlon

(late July)
Over 2,000 athletes compete in the . Both events start and finish at Fletcher Cove.

Amenities

There are public showers and restroom facilities as well as picnic tables and a basketball court located on top of the bluffs next to the Marine Safety Department Headquarters. The Coaster station is three blocks away.

No pooches allowed on the sand. No alcohol on the beach. No glass bottles.

Parking

Fletcher Cove Park beach offers easy public access. A public parking lot located at the Cove as well as free street parking ensure that parking is seldom a problem for visitors traveling to the beach by vehicle.

Hours

The parking lot is open daily from 6 a.m.
until 10 p.m.

Lifeguards

Lifeguards are on duty year round at Fletcher Cove, from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. during the winter months, and from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. during the summer months.
