Rodeo Highlights

The Poway Rodeo will take place over the September 26 - 27, 2014 weekend at The Grounds. Cowboys will compete in Bareback Bronc Riding, Saddle Bronc Riding, Barrel Racing, The Down Roping, Steer Wrestling, Team Roping, Bull Riding, Mutton Bustin', and Rodeo Bullfighters. Clown acts and drill teams will entertain the audience during the show.

 

Poway Rodeo

The traditional rodeo events join up with the Jr. Barrel Race, the Shooting Stars Drill Team, the kid's mutton bustin, and the hilarious rodeo clown acts to bring family fun at its finest to San Diego County's Award Winning Poway Rodeo.

Other Festivities

The Rodeo Dance starts on Friday and Saturday evenings after the rodeo. The activity is open to everyone 21 and over. There is no cover charge.

 

So You Think You Can Sing IV

Poway Rodeo and Kaminski’s BBQ are holding a contest to choose the top people to sing the National Anthem at the Poway Rodeo.

There will be two categories of competition:

- OPEN: Any age participation

- 15 & Under: Must be 15 or under

Let us hear your voice and you can win the opportunity to sing the National Anthem in front of 3,000 people at the Poway Rodeo, along with a gift card to Kaminski’s Sports Lounge and BBQ.

 

The contest will be held on four consecutive Friday nights beginning August 29th at 9:00PM. The first three Friday nights are qualifying rounds where the contestants will sing one song of their choice:

 

The Trail Ride
When: Sunday, September 20, 2014
Where: PVRA, 14336 Tierra Bonita, Poway Ca (Rodeo Grounds)
Sign In: 8:00 AM at the PVRA
Ride begins: 9:00 AM
Lunch: Noon
Cost: $20 per person
Includes: Catered BBQ lunch, one poker hand

Additional Poker Hands: $5.00 each
Cash prize for winning poker hand!

Raffle Prizes! ($1 per ticket, 6 Tickets $5)

 

Riders will have three rides based upon their ambition this morning (Easy, Medium, Challenging) to choose from. They will have a trail boss to lead them on a scenic adventure. Riders will be given playing cards along the ride and upon their return will be treated to a lunch and then a cash prize for the best poker hand. There will be a terrific selection of raffle prizes , many winners will walk up to claim their prize(s), with everything from $50 gift cards, to horse supplies. This is a BYOH event (Bring Your Own Horse). More info.
