Fallbrook's Western Barbecue and Firetrucks Nite will take place from 5pm until sundown along three blocks of Main Avenue between Ivy and Fig Streets in the city's downtown. Between 500 to 1,000 attendees are expected this year. The event celebrates the town's western heritage.
Several local chefs and restaurants will cookup tasty barbecue dishes. Snacks and refreshments will also be available.
A contest open to adults and children will give awards for the best western outfits.
On display will be car collections from Fallbrook Vintage Cars and Bonsall Rods & Relics, along with classic fire trucks.
A beer and wine garden will be on hand.
The music group, The NiteRiders, will perform in the Village Square, where dancing is encouraged.
The event is part of Hot Summer Nites, a series of block parties, which takes place the second and last Fridays of June, July and August on Main Ave in Fallbrook. Connections Fallbrook Networking puts on the series.
Parking will be available behind the Fallbrook Art Center on Main Avenue and side streets. However, area streets will be closed at 4:30pm, so its best that attendees arrive early.
No dogs, skateboards or bicycles will be allowed.
