Grape Day Parade and Festival takes place on the Saturday after Labor Day in
Escondido CA. The short downtown parade includes marching bands, classic cars, equestrians and walking groups.
The procession starts at 9:30am and travels down Grand Ave from Escondido Blvd to Juniper Street. Along the parade route are many local shops, galleries, cafes and restaurants.
The free festival takes place at nearby Grape Day Park and features live music and entertainment, a kid's fun zone, gunny sack races for the kids, a Boy Scout rope bridge, a Civil War encampment, vendor boothes, free grapes, and grape stomping. Artist-made banners will decorate the park
Grape Day began in 1908, to celebrate the city's grape harvest, and flourished until 1950. It was revived in 1996 by the park's History Center.
