Winterfest Highlights

Vista Downtown Winterfest begins Friday Dec 5th at 5:00 PM and continues until 9:00 PM featuring horse-drawn carriage rides, carnival rides, live music and caroling, arts and craft vendors and the annual Christmas Tree lighting on Friday, Dec. 5th 6:15 PM at the Krikorian Theatre. There will be Living Nativity presentations in the Historic Downtown at Broadway and Indiana in front of One-Day Shoe Repair and Lil’ Busy Bodies. Nativity scenes will run from 5:15-5:45 and 6:45-8:30. Carolers can be enjoyed in front of the AVO Playhouse, One-Day Shoe Repair, Starbucks and the Krikorian Theatre.

There will be Arts and Craft vendors along the Krikorian Main Street for holiday gift shopping. Enjoy dinner along with the caroling music in the background. After your downtown dinner, stop by Coldstone Creamery, Little Cakes Cupcakes or even Rocket Fizz Candy and treat yourself to something special. If you have time enjoy a carriage ride along Main Street. Got kids? Carnival Rides and Bounce houses will be a fun place for the kids!

The Vista Chamber of Commerce is planning the Annual Christmas parade, scheduled for Saturday December 6th. This year’s theme is “Comic Book Christmas”. Because of the construction on South Santa Fe, this year’s route will go through Main Street, passing in front of the Krikorian Theatres.  Starting at 1:00 PM, the parade route winds its way from in front of Famous Dave’s, past the Wave waterpark down Main Street, crossing South Santa Fe and continuing on Main through the Historic Downtown area before finally ending at Citrus.

Thank you to Connor McFadden, Growth Group/Community Service Pastor at North Coast Church as his team wrapped the trees with lights on Main street in Historical downtown. Also in November, Mike Palet, of West Coast Tree Service, will be installing wreaths on Broadway; and early in December, Chris Madson of Dekra Lites will have a crew professionally rewrap the pole lights so that they fit within the flags, thus generating more light and making Historic Downtown ready for the holidays. To make sure everything is ready and in good working order, City of Vista Public Works is busy checking all the lights/GFIs on Main Street and Broadway.

Remember the fun starts Friday evening and continues Saturday before and after the parade (10:00 AM to 5:00 PM). There will be carnival rides, pictures with Santa and comic book characters, Christmas and craft vendors, artificial snow, and jumps for the kids scattered throughout the Village, Main Street and Broadway.
