Oceanside Labor Day Pier Swim Awards
1st, 2nd and 3rd place in each age/gender. Final results will be made available online on the Oceanside Swim Club website.
Swimsuit, cap, goggles, earplugs and body grease are allowed. Wet suites, neoprene caps, fins, or flotation devices are not allowed. Wet suite may be used, but can not medal.
The half-day Oceanside Labor Day Pier Swim event draws participants from the entire west coast, including Canada, and thousands of spectators from the surrounding beach communities. Participants and spectators alike enjoy live music, vendor booths, raffle prizes and the announcement of winners.
Sponsored by the Oceanside Swim Club, the Oceanside Labor Day Pier Swim is open to the general public. Participants start at the beach, swim one mile around the pier (with City of Oceanside Lifeguards stationed throughout) and end with a dash across the beach finish line.
Awards for the top three finishers in each age/gender category, and the overall winners for each gender, are awarded at the end of the event. Finishers from previous years have sped in at a very fast 18.5 minutes and some have taken a leisurely pace of just over one hour. Applications are currently available through the Oceanside Swim Club.
