Art Fair Highlights

Over 100 Arts and Crafts Booths

Oceanside Days of Art features over 100 artists, who will display an exciting variety of artwork, including paintings, high quality prints, photography, hand-made jewelry, sculpture, ceramics, blown glass, and more. While the art event is smaller than other street faires in nearby cities, the venue is strictly art.

Sponsored by the Oceanside Cultural Arts Foundation, Oceanside Days of Art takes up a block of Pier View Way, just east of Coast Hwy 101, beside the new Oceanside Civic Center and Library. Live music is held on an outdoor stage in the Civic Center plaza. Seating is available.

The atmosphere is easygoing and doesn't have the crowds you find at some of the other local street faires. There's plenty of space to move about. Some of the booths are located on the plaza beside the water area.

Food Vendors and Local Restaurants

Meals and snacks are available by a few food vendors and a few nearby restaurants. Next to the art festival, on the corner of Coast Hwy 101 and Pier View Way is Longboarder Cafe, a diner.

Art From Oceanside Schools

Several of the artists demonstrate their art techniques at their booths. Oceanside High School students demonstrate throwing pottery on a wheel. Student art is on display in the Poster Contest Display. The largest high school art show in North County, the Carlsbad-Oceanside Art League High School Art Show, feature several pieces by local high school students. Children are encouraged to do their own artwork at the Hands-on Art area.

Nearby Coast Hwy 101 Attractions

Next to Oceanside Days of Art is the Oceanside Downtown. Except for the Civic Center and Library, the storefronts, mainly mom and pop shops, date back to the 50s and 60s. The district, once seedy, has improved over the years. Across the street is the California Surf Museum. The Oceanside Museum of Art is located next to the Civic Center Plaza, on Pier View Way.

West of Coast Hwy 101, Pier View Way makes its way toward the beach and Oceanside Pier. Although Pier View Way doesn't allow traffic to go all the way through, you can walk all the way. The walk between Coast Hwy 101 and Oceanside Pier is about 4 blocks.

Traffic is open along Coast Hwy, blocked off only along two blocks of Pier View Way, east of Coast Hwy.

Parking: It's not too hard to find parking for the event in nearby neighborhoods.
