An annual shopping extravaganza, Christmas in July draws an estimated 20,000 people each year. Offering handmade arts and craft items (many with Christmas themes) by over 175 artisans, the event also includes a rummage sale, bake sale, beer garden, food court, raffle, kid's activity area and live entertainment.

The event dates back to 1977, when the parents and staff of Old Mission Montessori School organized a jams and jellies sale, and has developed into the school's major fundraiser, providing $60,000-80,000 per year to supplement tuition at San Luis Rey Parish's parochial school.
