5K HIGHLIGHTS
Up to 2,000 athletes will compete in the La Jolla Shores 5K. This running race is shorter and less demanding than the La Jolla Half Marathon. The 5K follows the final section of the Half Marathon course.
The 5K course begins above La Jolla Shores and runs along La Jolla Shores Drive to N. Torrey Pines Road, Prospect Ave, and Coast Blvd. The course finishes at Ellen Browning Scripps Park, near La Jolla Cove and La Jolla Downtown Village.
The La Jolla 5K course is clearly marked with traffic cones, chalked arrows and course guides at each questionable turn. Except when otherwise directed, run as close to the right hand curb as possible. Note: The course and finish line will close to 5K runners and striders one hour after race start (20 min/mile pace).
