Art Festival Highlights

Aways the first weekend in June, Fiesta del Sol features arts and crafts booths, ongoing live music on a stage, an international food court, a beer garden, kid’s activities, and more. The festivities take place on Plaza Street between S Hwy 101 and S. Sierra Ave., just steps from Fletcher Cove Park and Beach, in Solana Beach, CA.

 

All ages are welcome, and the entertainment is FREE. Over 50,000 festival-goers are expected to turn out for this two-day event. The street event opens each morning at 9am with the arts & crafts fair and closes each evening at 9pm after the conclusion of the last musical performance.

The street fair is presented by the Solana Beach Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with the Belly Up and the City of Solana Beach.

Activities

Music
The Fiesta del Sol rocks Solana Beach with a diverse musical showcase providing continuous live music. The lineup is rich with rock, reggae, soul, funk, jazz, blues, Latin and worldbeat, to name a few, spanning cultures and countries from Africa to Brazil to the USA.

 

Food
The food court is an international smorgasboard offering Thai, Mexican, Middle Eastern, American, etc. There are several food booths offering sweets, coffee and more.

 

Kid's Acitivities
The Fiesta del Sol features a special area just for kids with rides, games, hands-on activities, Llama rides, a face painter, a rock climbing attraction, a kiddie train, an inflatable jump, other children's activities, and a diaper derby. The main stage showcases children's dance groups, musicians and martial arts exhibitions.

Parking and Directions

Parking
Parking is available at the train station on South Cedros Avenue which is just a few minutes walk to the venue. Minimal parking is available on side streets near the event area.

 

How do I get to Fiesta del Sol?
Attendees are encouraged to come to Fiesta Del Sol by train, bicycle(designated bicycle parking area is conveniently located at the Solana Beach train station, which is located across the street from the Fiesta Del Sol entrance), walking, Bus (Bus Stop is adjacent to Fiesta del Sol Entrance) or by carpool. The North County Transit District will be offering special incentives to Fiesta del Sol attendees for both days of the Fiesta, Click here for details.

 

This promotion is in collaboration with making the City of Solana Beach a “Vacation without a Car” destination. In addition, we will have a variety of designated parking areas with Pedi-cabs OR SHUTTLE BUS readily available to take you to the Fiesta.

 

While Fiesta del Sol may not be as large as the street fairs of it's neighbors to the north, it is jam-packed with artists, music, food and activities. The festival is located in downtown, near shops, boutiques, and restaurants. Just across Coast Hwy 101 on Cedros Ave is Cedros Design District, with many artzy shops, galleries, and restaurants. Located in the old quanza huts, The Belly Up, a popular night club, is known for its top-rated, live music performances.
