Horse Show Events

Western Week

April 19 - 22, 2012
Week one of the Del Mar National Horse Show will feature Western classes, such as reining and trail. The highlight of Western Week is the Night of the Horse show. This is not a competition, but rather, a wonderful themed evening with amazing equestrian acts. It is an event that is great fun for the whole family.

Dressage Week

April 26 - 29, 2012
Week two, the nationals showcases the intricate movements that many call "ballet on horseback." The highlight of Dressage Week is the Evening of Musical Freestyles. Some of the top dressage rider-horse teams in the world compete, showing the incredible and subtle communication that occurs between the rider and horse, as the team executes a variety of graceful dressage maneuvers.

Hunter/Jumper Week

May 1 - 6, 2012
Week three is features Hunter/Jumper competitions. The featured event of Hunter/Jumper Week is the $100,000 Grand Prix of Del Mar, an AGA event. Equine athletes and their riders compete, trying to negotiate a tight course filled with a variety of jumps, within a specified time period and without any faults (a knock-down or a refused jump).
