Exotic Cats on Display

You will see cats with folded ears, little tails and cats sporting curly hair, permanently waved by mother nature; cats with long hair, short hair breeds like Havana Brown, Egyptian Mao, Maine Coon, Tonkinese, Somali, Abyssinians, Cornish Rex, Balinese and Persians!

But your cat doesn't have to a Persian from the Shah's court, or the Pharaoh's Egyptian Mau to enter this show! In the Household Pet Class, any non-pedigreed cat that has been spayed or neutered is eligible.

Cat Judging

Ten (10) of CFA's top National and International judges will be flown in from around the country to judge this event, and exhibitors from coast to coast are expected to attend and compete with their finest. Judging in ten different rings will assure no lulls for guests and entries!

They will be judged on Saturday only for "purrsonality," health and beauty. To be shown, all Household Pets (HHP) must be at least 4 months old, not declawed, in good health with no evidence of fleas, ear mites, etc. Cats 8 months of age or older must be spayed or neutered.

HHP's are judged on condition (general good health), uniqueness, temperament, and grooming. To enter your Household Pet, complete and sign a Household Pet Entry Form for each cat. The forms can be obtained by a link on the web site. Your special kitty could be the "Best Household Pet."

Swap Meet-Like Atmosphere

The show hall will also provide a swap meet atmosphere for purchasing cat related items offered by specialty merchandisers situated throughout the show hall. There will be hundreds of items for cat lovers, ranging from gift novelties such as cat decorated t-shirts, personalized food and water bowls and exquisite hand-crafted cat theme jewelry.

Practical products for cat owners may also include custom made cat poles or "trees," gourmet cat food, wonderful cat toys (for the cats, of course) and an extravaganza of health and beauty care products. This expansive swap meet of cat supplies would alone make the show a must for San Diego feline fans. Help us help them.

Cat Adoption

With concern for any kitty without a loving family, this year's show will include a special promotion to find homes for San Diego's shelter cats.

The Humane Society, Friends of Cats, the Helen Woodward Center and the Feral Cat Coalition to name but a few, have participated in our previous shows, many with adoptable shelter cats. With an emphasis on helping cats find homes, this is a major opportunity to make substantial impact on the population of adoptable shelter cats.
