HIGHLIGHTS
The San Diego County Coastline is made up of several towns and communities, each with its own character, history and size. Over the years, most towns have undergone growth and new development. Yet, they have retained much of their qauintness and charm.
BEACH CITIES
3 1/2 miles of sandy beaches, a pier, harbor, lagoon, revitalized downtown, California Surf Museum, Mission San Luis Rey, Oceanside Harbor Days, and more.
Seven miles of quality beaches, a beach campground, a beach boardwalk, flower fields, rolling hills, quaint Carlsbad Village shopping district, LEGOLAND, a regional shopping mall, two lagoons, Carlsbad Village Fair and Carlsbad Art in the Village.
Leucadia has retained much of it's historic buildings and laid back ambience, along Hwy 101.
Miles of great surfing and swimming beaches,
a beach campground, a lagoon, historic downtown district, La Paloma Theatre, the world famous Annual Encinitas Street Fair in Spring and Encinitas Poinsettia Festival in Fall, and more.

1 1/2 miles of narrow beaches, Cedros Design District, Commuter Rail-Amtrak Station, Fletchers Cove Park, and Fiesta Del Sol art festival.
Historic downtown district, 2 miles of sandy beaches, Powerhouse Center Park, a lagoon, the Del Mar Fairgrounds and Racetrack, San Diego County Fair, Hot Air Balloon Rides, and more.
Torrey Pines State Reserve, the Los Peñasquitos Lagoon, and several miles of secluded, sandy beaches.
An affluent coastal community. Prospect St. shopping district, La Jolla Cove, Scripps Institute of Oceanography and Scripps Pier, Birch Aquarium, UCSD, and the Museum of Contemporary Art, La Jolla Festival of Arts, and more.
A pier, an ocean boardwalk, 3 1/2 mi of sandy beaches, Belmont Park, The Wave House, many restaurants, clubs, hotels and shops. The town is a haven for young people, especially college students. Annual Pacific BeachFest.

Bay side: Liberty Station, Shelter Island, a harbor and several marinas. Ocean side: Sunset Cliffs and tide pools. Near tip of peninsula: The Cabrillo National Monument, Old Point Loma Lighthouse, and Ft. Rosecrans Cemetary.
