Ocean Beach
Ocean Beach, known to locals as "OB", is a hip beach community in San Diego, located on the Point Loma peninsula. (Map)
Ocean Beach is more sedate than its neighbors, Mission Beach and Pacific Beach to the north, separated from them with no direct access by the San Diego River Channel.
Ocean Beach is like going in a time-warp back to the '60s with the hippy-like culture and laid-back atmosphere. With a pier, a dog beach and a vibrant beach area where people like to hang out, Ocean Beach has the right name.
