West Mission Bay

West Mission Bay stretches from the Catamaran Resort at the north end to Mission Point at the south. West Mission Bay is predominantly residential with homes coming up to the Bike/Walk/Skate Path and sandy beach. This side of the bay is characterized by long stretches of sandy beaches.

West Mission Bay runs parallel to Mission Beach, with easy access in many places along Mission Blvd. Restaurants and shops are located along parts of Mission Blvd, just a block west of the bay. The Pacific Ocean is only two blocks from the bay.

BEACHES
West Mission Bay Beach
A long narrow sandy beach. No fire rings or picnic tables.

Santa Clara Point Beach
A narrow sandy beach with a sections looking east and into Santa Clara Cove. No fire rings or picnic tables.

Bahia Point Beach
A narrow sandy beach. Fire rings and picnic tables on the north end.

Ventura Cove
A sandy beach with several fire rings and a swimming area in the summer.

Bonita Cove Beach
A sandy beach with fire rings, picnic tables and a playground on the north side.

SHORELINE PARKS
Ventura Point Park and Cove
East of Bahia Resort and Marina. Cove is sandy beach with fire rings. Park has trees, tables, views.

Mariners Point Park
Large sandy peninsula off of Bonita Cove. The tip of Mariner’s Point is a Least Tern nesting area.

Bonita Cove Park
Large grassy park with playground, swimming, fire rings, picnic tables, and barbeque grills.

Mission Point Park
Comfort station with showers, playground, picnic tables, park benches, fire rings and path for jogging or bike riding.

AMUSEMENT PARKS
Belmont Park

A historic beachfront amusement park next to the beach in Mission Beach. Main attraction is the Giant Dipper Roller Coaster.

RECREATION / WATERSPORTS
Mission Bay Aquatic Center
South end of Santa Clara Point on Mission Bay. The world's largest instructional waterfront facility.

Mission Bay Sports Center
North end of Santa Clara Point. The 7,000 sq. ft sports center is the largest public Watersports facility in San Diego.

Santa Clara Recreation Center
Center of Santa Clara Point on Mission Bay. Tennis court, softball field, basketball courts, picnic areas, children's playground, Bayview meeting room, large multi-purpose room, and weight room.

PLACES
Mission Beach
A 2-mile long, strand of land about a few blocks wide, with the Pacific Ocean on one side and Mission Bay on the other.
