The AVO Playhouse is a 382 seat auditorium with an elevated stage, located on downtown Vista's historic Mainstreet. Theatre goers can enjoy performances by dance and children's theatre companies. The big attraction is Moonlight at the Avo, a winter season of plays and musicals produced by Moonlight Stage Productions. The theatre company also puts on summer performances at Moonlight Amphitheatre.

The Avo Playhouse is available for rentals throughout the year, for any kind of event, including lectures, corporate meetings and theatre productions.

The AVO is also a community service facility hosting city-sponsored gatherings, social service organization meetings, and school graduations.
