Fletcher Cove Park
Location: 111 S. Sierra Ave, Solana Beach, California (map)
Park Highlights
Fletcher Cove Park is the main beach park within Solana Beach. The park was recently renovated and now offers a grassy area, artzy mosaic trimming along its walkways, a playground, a sitting area with concrete benches in a small, open circular area, and a viewing deck, overlooking the beach and ocean.
Fletcher Cove Park beach is a sandy cove and narrow strip of beach below the park. A concrete ramp takes you from the park down to the beach. This is a popular haven for surfers and swimmers. Jogging, walking and surf-fishing are also popular pastimes here. The beach gets wider at low tide but pretty much disappears at high tide. The beach can also get filled with small cobble stones in various spots.
Downtown Solana Beach, located on Coast Hwy 101, is a block from the park. Downtown has several shops and restaurants.
Across the Coast Hwy is the Solana Beach Train Station, where you can catch the Coaster and Amtrack, and the Cedros Design District, with art galleries, Belly Up Tavern, shops and restaurants.
