Named after a scenic overlook point, Encinitas Viewpoint Park is one of the few parks in Encinitas with off-leash dog hours.
The park has two sections: The lower section has a children's playground with sand lot, large grassy area, a large tree, and park benches.
The upper area begins with a foot path at street level and winds up a hill full of tall trees and natural vegetation, to an upper level area with flat, open grassy space, a look out point of the ocean, and picnic benches.
The park is quite and secluded and gets a nice ocean breeze. The Encinitas Library is just across the street.
