Buddy Todd Park Highlights

Buddy Todd Park is a large, spacious park with a large multipurpose grassy area near the parks entrance, and surrounding long grassy expanses with shade trees, picnic tables and BBQs.

The 19-acre park also has a full court basketball, a children's playground, and sand volleyball.

The park is Oceanside's oldest, created in 1929. Located in a semi-rural part of Oceanside next to a canyon, the park is generally a quiet, peaceful place.

The park originally named for its location on Parnassus Circle (which got its name from a visitor to Oceanside who said that the panoramic view from the hilltop reminded him of Mount Parnassus in Greece). The park was renamed in 1946 for John "Buddy" Todd, the first Oceanside resident to give his life for his country in World War II.
