MUSEUM HIGHLIGHTS
Located in Downtown Oceanside, the Oceanside Museum of Art is housed in a classic Irving Gill designed building that represents the flavor of Southern California in the 1930s.
MUSEUM ART COLLECTIONS
Oceanside Museum of Art presents five provocative exhibits each year. Exhibitions are designed to showcase the finest art of regional and international artists. From classic landscape paintings to studio furniture, neon sculpture, art quilts and architectural glass, the museum's galleries feature an enlightening survey of contemporary art enriched by the cultures of the community. The museum's galleries are redesigned for each exhibition, surprising visitors with a fresh, exciting visual transformation for every new exhibit.
MUSEUM ART SCHOOL
Besides exhibitions, the museum offers art instruction at the Oceanside Museum of Art School of Art, chamber music in the museum galleries as part of the Pier View Way Concert Series in partnership with St. Mary, Star of the Sea Church, bus tours to other art museums in Southern California, lectures, workshops and museum tours for school classes and community groups led by the museum's experienced docents. Oceanside Museum of Art is a gathering place where friends meet to share and enjoy the rich cultural experiences available in the region.
MUSEUM STORE
Oceanside Museum of Art's Museum Store is filled with books on art, architecture, artists and art history as well as gifts for every occasion: exquisitely designed notecards, hand-crafted glassware, elegant and funky jewelry, hand-painted and hand-dyed scarves, and a unique selection of table top accessories that feature the expert craftsmanship of local and regional artists.
