Museum Highlights

Heritage Park Village and Museum is Oceanside's original town center, with several historical buildings preserved on two-acres. The historic village includes the first General Store, a blacksmith shop and livery stables, a jail, the Portola Inn, Libby School and the Blade newspaper building. The village includes a large grassy area with a large shade tree and beautiful gazebo. Visiting the village will take you back to a more simple time.

The village is located on a road which originally served as the old Spanish exploration trail, and later became a stagecoach and wagon route between San Diego and Los Angeles.

Most of the historical preservation of heritage Park Village and Museum comes from "Friends of Heritage Park", a group of volunteers.

“Friends of Heritage Park” accept donations of time, materials, artifacts and money. To donate or learn more about membership contact (760) 433-8297.
