The Coronado Museum of History and Art is located in one of Coronado’s historic downtown buildings, on Orange Ave in downtown Coronado.
The museum is operated by the The Coronado Historical Association. In the museum foyer, the gift store is located to the right and the museum galleries to the left. A small cafe is located near the gift store.
The museum features four galleries, which showcase a permanent collection and current exhibits of Coronado’s past. The collection includes artwork, textiles and other memorabilia that dates back to the 1800s.
The museum also conducts walking tours, designed to educate people about some aspect of the city. The tours include “Promenade Through the Past”, “Hotel del Coronado Tour”, “Coronado Walking Tour”, and “Coronado Tree Tour”.
The Coronado Museum of History and Art has an educational outreach program for school children, both locally and throughout San Diego County.

Hotel del Coronado Tour
Volunteer docents from the Coronado Historical Association lead a 90 minute tour throughout the historic Hotel del Coronado. Tours depart on Tues and Fri at 10:30 am, and on Sat and Sun at 2 pm. $15, children under twelve are free. Reservations required. (619) 437-8788
Coronado Heritage Walk
This promenade through the past departs from the lobby of the Museum of History and Art, 1100 Orange Avenue, on Wednesdays at 10:30 am. Learn about Coronado’s famous buildings and residents. Fee includes Architectural Gems: A Self-Guided Historic Tour and admission to the museum. $10 per person, reservations required. (619) 437-8788.
