The California Surf Museum is visited by an estimated 20,000 people annually.

The museum is in a brand new building and location, a few blocks from the pier in downtown Oceanside. It was originally opened in 1986 in Encinitas and subsequently moved to Pacific Beach before settling in Oceanside, Recently it moved to a new building.

The surf museum is dedicated to the display of surfing equipment and photographs. The California Surf Museum has memoriabilia of several lengendary surfers, who helps shaped surfing.

Museum Exhibits

Among the California Surf Museum's ongoing exhibits is The Surfershapers Exhibit celebrates a small fraternity of surfers who, by their exceptional conceptual abilities and considerable crafting talent, radically altered surfboard design and, in some cases, manufacturing techniques.

Also on exhibit is "Tom Keck: Exposed. Documenting surfing since the late 1950s."

A new exhibit, soon to appear is, "100 Years of Surfing Culture In Southern California."
