A popular surfing beach, beach cliff park, and historical spiritual retreat.

BEACHES
Swami's Beach

Swami’s beach is a haven for surfers, with its great surf break, located in Encinitas, CA. Some of the locals have been surfing Swami’s beach for decades. There is generally no swimming here. Swami’s beach is narrow and not a good spot for sunbathing. This is also a good spot for diving, where you can find kelp beds a quarter mile off. Divers should enter and leave the beach away from the surfing area.

SHORELINE PARKS
Seacliff Park
Sea Cliff Park sits on a bluff overlooking Swami's Beach. Narrow grassy area, with shade trees, picnic tables, barbecues, and walkways.

TIDE POOLS
Swami's Tide Pools
an extensive reef formation, which becomes visible as the tide recedes. The tide pools are a popular destination for school children field trips.

OTHER ATTRACTIONS
Self Realization Fellowship
Paramahansa Yogananda established the Self-Realization Fellowship Ashram Center in 1937. The Ashram Center includes the Temple, a Hermitage and Meditation Gardens, and a Books & Gifts Store. The center sits on a bluff with a beautiful ocean view. The beach below, Swamis, a popular spot for local surfers, got its nickname from the Ashram Center.
