BEACHES
Mission Beach beach
Wide sandy beaches, popular with the younger crowd in Mission Beach, CA. This beach is the center of a continuous stretch of beach known as The Strand, which extends over two miles, beginning at South Mission Beach at the Mission Bay channel inlet and ending at North Pacific Beach. The Strand is the most popular beach in San Diego city, drawing large crowds in summer. A lively spot is where Mission Beach beach connects with Ventura Place, where you'll find shops, bars and restaurants, and Belmont Park. Just south next to the beach is a shoreline park.
BOARDWALKS
Mission Beach Oceanfront Boardwalk
About 3 1/2 miles long, the boardwalk extends from North Pacific Beach to South Mission Beach. The boardwalk along Mission Beach, is primarily lined by colorful funky homes and beach rental units. The boardwalk is a popular spot for walking, jogging, biking and roller blading. A short seawall separates the boardwalk from the beach.

Mission Blvd District
The ecclectic main drag of Mission Beach, with funky small homes, apartments, clothing, boutique and specialty shops, bars, cafes and restaurants, is just a block from the beach. A bustling area is along Mission Blvd at Ventura Place and Belmont Park.

PLACES
West Mission Bay
West Mission Bay is only a few blocks from Mission Beach beach, but a world apart. While Mission Beach beach is lively with activity, West Mission Bay is secluded and peaceful. The bay stretches from the Catamaran Resort at the north end to Mission Point at the south. The bay can be reached from a few streets connecting with Mission Blvd. A major access point is at W. Mission Bay Drive and Mission Blvd. West of Mission Blvd, W. Mission Bay Drive becomes Ventura Place.
