BEACHES
La Jolla Cove
La Jolla Cove is a very small beach, tucked between adjacent sandstone cliffs of La Jolla, CA. Due to its extraordinary beauty, La Jolla Cove is one of the most photographed beaches in Southern California. The cove is a popular entry spot for scuba divers and swimmers.
Children's Pool Beach
La Jolla Children's Pool is a very picturesque secluded sandy beach with a panoramic view. The beach is off-limits to people and is a sanctuary for wild harbor seals. People can walk along a seawall and enjoy a better view of the seals, tidepools, and ocean surroundings.
SHORELINE PARKS
Ellen Browning Scripps Park
Ellen Browning Scripps Park is the most photographed spot in San Diego according to AAA Magazine. The park has plenty of space to spread out for a picnic or play frisbee. There's a scene oceanfront walkway along the bluffs.
Cuvier Park
Cuvier Park is the most popular spot for weddings along the La Jolla coastline. It is a secluded spot hidden from street view. The park connects to a long narrow grassy area, great for picnicking and enjoying the ocean view. See Cuvier Park Hotels.
TIDE POOLS
Shell Beach Tide Pool
Shell Beach is has a fairly good tide pool area at low tide. Shell Beach Tide Pool is at the south end of Ellen Browning Scripps Park in La Jolla at the bottom of a small cement stairway. On a good day at low tide, you can see many people exploring the tide pools. The glistening water and gentle breeze make for a refreshing experience.
