Consists of a long, sandy beach, a dog beach, two shoreline parks, and a nearby historic towne village. This activity hub also has several events throughout the year. Easygoing atmosphere.
BEACHES
Del Mar City Beach
Two miles of sandy beaches, easily accessible in Del Mar, CA. North section allows dogs to run freely in summer. Middle section is residential with frequent public access trails to the main hwy.
South section, between 15th & 18th Streets, the beach is next to Powerhouse Park with Seagrove Park and the Del Mar Towne Village nearby. Farther south, the beach is cut off from neighborhoods, due to cliffs.
SHORELINE PARKS
Powerhouse Center and Park
Renovated historic building, serves as a functional community space and outdoor theatre. The park is a large grassy area, overlooking Del Mar beach. Powerhouse Park has a playground, is a great place to picnic, and hosts summer concerts.
Seagrove Park
An open grassy area, with pine trees, and great ocean views, at foot of 15th Street on Coast Blvd. Nice place topicnicking. Popular San Diego County spot for weddings and gatherings.
SHOPPING/DINING
Del Mar Village
Dating back to the 1880s, the Del Mar Village has an old world charm & quaintness; a block from the beach. It is also a reflection of Del Mar's affluent population, featuring many upscale specialty stores and restaurants.
Del Mar Plaza
In the heart of Del Mar Village, Del Mar Plaza offers tasty restaurants, and trendy shops and boutiques.
