Certified Farmers Market Highlight
The UTC Farmers Market takes place every Thursday from 3pm to 7pm on Genesse Ave at the west entrance of UTC Westfield Shopping Plaza.
The market is located across the street from
Costa Verde Center.
The weekly event is small, but offers a good variety of fresh local produce, quick meals, and unique gifts.
The market is a part of the Brian's Farmers' Market group and a forerunner in the Community Supported Agriculture program, designed to support local farmers. All Brian’s Farmers Markets are CERTIFIED, indicating that the produce at is only grown in California.
Committed to the belief that all citizens should have convenient access to highly nutritious, local foods, Brian’s Farmers Markets owner Brian Beevers accepts only pesticide-free and organic, local farms as vendors. He limits artisans to those who sell products with a low environmental impact or that benefit the environment in some way. For instance, his vendors include Revolution Landscape, a company that replaces grass lawns with vegetable gardens or native plants. Solar power companies are also encouraged to apply.
