Campground Highlights

Magdalena Ecke Family YMCA Aquatic Park is located on the Agua Hedionda Lagoon, just west of I-5, near Carlsbad State Beach. The aquatic park is active from April through October.

Childrens Camp, Private Groups

The park is not open to the public. You'll have to contact the YMCA to find out about group activities and directions to the park. During the week days, Magdalena Ecke Family YMCA Aquatic Park is used as a summer camp for children 6 - 12 years of age, with each camp lasting 5 days. On the weekends, the aquatic park is rented to private groups who have to make reservations sometimes a year in advance. Usually, one group occupies the park on a given weekend.

Camping Amenities

The Magdalena Ecke Family YMCA Aquatic Park has a parking area for RVs, campers and cars, a boating launch ramp, a dock, picnic tables, a full-service kitchen available to those in attendence, and a house used by the caretaker.

People can enjoy kayaaking, canoeing, paddle boating, and fishing. For the summer camps, kids can also have fun climbing the giant floating ice berg and bouncing on the water trampoline.
