Estuary Highlights

The Sweetwater Marsh Estuary comprises 316 acres on the west central section of the San Diego Bay National Wildlife Refuge. The Sweetwater Marsh Estuary offers protection to several endangered species, including the California red-legged frog, Arroyo Southwestern Toad, and Willow Flycatcher.

You can best view and appreciate the Sweetwater Marsh Estuary by visiting the Chula Vista Nature Center. The nature center has both indoor and outdoor exhibits of living animals, along with trials for sightseeing the estuary.
