Park Highlights
Pepper Park is
National City's only shoreline park. The 5 1/2 acre bayside park sits alongside the
Sweetwater Channel, with a pleasant view of San Diego Bay and the wetlands.
Named after National City businessman and civic leader Leonard Pepper, the park has picnic areas, a playground, a busy boat launching ramp and a public fishing pier equipped with lighting for night fishing.
Pepper Park is rather secluded from restaurants and commercial areas and can be tricky to find. The National City Aquatic Center is located near Pepper Park across the parking lot. The aquatic center offers classes, including kayaking. A small marina is located just east of the park. Pepper Park has been part of National City Bayfront Revitalization Project.
