PARK HIGHLIGHTS

Harbor Island Park is a grassy area near the west end of Harbor Island, on San Diego Bay. The bayfront park has large trees near the shoreline, which provide a perfect spot for picnicking and watching the boats. The park offers a panoramic view of the bay, downtown, the Coronado Bay Bridge, North Island, Shelter Island, Point Loma, and the inlet to the bay.

Spanning the length of mile-long Harbor Island is a concrete boardwalk, on the waterfront, with park benches facing the water along the way. The boardwalk is ideal for walking, jogging and bayside fishing.

More sedate and quite than Shelter Island, Harbor Island has fewer hotels and restaurants. It also has no sandy shore, fishing pier or boat launch.
